We are a traditional concert band, which consists of woodwinds (flutes, clarinets, oboes, bassoons, saxophones), brass instruments (trumpets, French horns, trombones, baritones, tubas), and percussion.
The HRCB is a non-auditioned group. Each section will determine part distribution and solo work amongst themselves.
In general, the band will play five to six concerts in the summer season and three to four concerts in the winter.
Concert attire may vary based on time of year and location, but in general it is all black. For more formal performances:
Gentlemen: black dress pants, long sleeved collard shirts with black (no white) undershirts, black socks and black shoes.
Ladies: Black tops and dress pants; if skirts or dresses are worn, must cover the knees when seated. Shoes and socks should be black. Avoid tops that don't fully cover the waistband
The HRCB is free to join; we do not ask members to pay dues. Costs for upkeep of your instrument and purchasing appropriate attire for concerts is the responsibility of each individual member.
